Azure DoD Cloud Services

Department of Defense (DoD) agencies use Azure Government, a hyper-scale commercial cloud service, to deploy various workloads and solutions, including those protected by the DoD Cloud Computing Security Criteria Guide at Impact Level 4 (L4) and Impact Level 5 (L5). Azure Government has been awarded the Defense Information Systems Agency's Information Impact Level 5 DoD Provisional Authorization, making it the first and only cloud service to receive this recognition. Additionally, Azure Government regions dedicated to customer workloads of the US Department of Defense are now widely available.

The main driver for the DoD in moving to the cloud is to enable organizations to focus on their missions and reduce the distractions of building and maintaining in-house IT solutions.
